Ok, My amp isnt cutting it anymore with its effects and distortions alone... I have a Line 6 Spider 3 15 watt, not a bad little modeling amp. But i need more- some different distortions and amp models, plus more effects. I don't really know which multi effects pedal to get though.

I've looked at these so far:
Zoom G2.1u: http://www.zzounds.com/item--ZOMG21U
Digitech RP 90
Digitech RP250

and Im not sure... I also seen the Boss ME20 which looked pretty good, but I dont know what to really compare these on. I cant try them all out either, my local store has the zooms and the boss... and i can see about the digitechs, but none are in stock. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a Digitech RP100A that I no longer use (except when friends come over to play and we need 2 rigs). I like it. I has a pretty good assortment of effects that are supposed to mimic the sounds of other artists. It has 40 additional effects that Digitech must have thought were cool and it had 40 banks to save programable effects. It had all the typical effects built in for you to play with and customize your own sounds. Has a basic onboard drum machine (you can controll the tempo and volume of the drums and that's it).

I think the RP100A is similar to the 250 in function except the 250 has an expression pedal built in.

The only thing I don't like is the look of the Digitech stuff. They just look like a piece of gear that other guitarists are going to make fun of.

Actually, I love my RP350. The difference between your RP100A and the RP250 is the DSP in the RP250 is 4 times more powerful. You can really hear the difference with moderate gain models. It responds to your picking attack, you can roll your volume control on your guitar and you can clean up or go dirty, just like in a real amp. The thing looks like a toy, but man, the new RP's sound really good. I highly recommend them. And the way I see it is, I'd whip out my RP and let others laugh, then watch them shut up when they hear the tone I get.

I wouldn't stack one modelling device after another. For practice, I run my RP into the aux input of my Roland Cube 30, thereby bypassing the COSM modeller alltogether.

I bought a BR-600 Digital Recording Studio. (Basically a Field Recorder). I love it. It has replaced everything else I used to use for recording.

I have the 250, and I love it. It has so many amps, pedals, and effects built right in it. I'd HIGHLY recommend this pedal.

Also, I use my RP350 for computer based recording. The RP350 has a built-in USB port and balanced as well as unbalanced outputss. For live use, you can easily go straight to the mixing board with the balanced outputs. And the X-Edit software is excellent. It even allows you to do deeper edits than the RP's front panel allows. It's amazing how much usable stuff Digitech packed into this diminuative $200 piece of gear.

The RP250 has USB out. And yes, the RP250 uses X-Edit as well.

Line6's Pod series is cool, as is the Boss GT6 and the GT8, I think that Vox has a cool one out, but if it's bells and whistles, I'd say that the Zoom, Boss or Digitech is the way to go...
