I already did this in another thread, but I'll post the latest additions:

New Guitar - Ibanez RG350dx. I traded some extra junk I had lying around for it. Nearly brand-new condition. I'm testing out an idea I had about using 3 single coils in an RG. It's working alright actually. I think the Area 58's I have in it are a little on the weak / bright side for what I'm looking for though. Maybe 3 Virtual Solos?

New effects - Bought a BOSS ML-2 Metal Core, and a/b'd it with a Metal Zone. The metal core is far and away my favorite of the two, although with fewer control options. I wanted a dryer, deeper tone for rhythm guitar stuff and this seems to do the trick.

Next on the list: Another Ibanez, this time an ART100 or RG321 with D-Activators, Super Distortions, or something similarly brash and high-output for searing rhythm work. Also looking at a new amp, and I still can't decide between Mesa Boogie Stiletto Deuce, Dual Rectifier, or F-100. Or a Peavey 5150. Or a Laney GH100L / TT100. Or...you get the idea. Maybe I'll finally also go all-out with the Monster Cables and refit EVERYTHING I own with them. Right now it's a combination of whatever the music store had, and whatever radio shack had. Not very good.

I'd go with the peavey, it's cheaper than all of those amps, and it sounds better in my opinion.

It also only has 2 channels and it very noisy. But if that is what you are looking for, go for it.

Here' re 2 relatively new acquisitions of mine

A Fullerton ST-6 and a Fullerton ST-4 with a licensed Floyd. And an old Squier from '99 with a 2001 rosewood Squier neck and red, silver and blue Lace Sensors.

My amp is a V-amp 2 I got a few Christmases ago, I need to upgrade the eprom on it so that I can control the input gain.

My Gear;

Guitars
- Late 70's Lotus Les Paul (great guitar but extremely heavy... Has some battle scars/knife wounds... I love it)
- 1995 Squire "Bullet" Stratocaster" (great action but electronics are noisy)
- Washburn X-25 (Love this guitar.... Only complaint is that I don't like the tiny fret markers on the fret board)
- Floyd Rose Discovery DST-2 (w/ Quick Loader Bridge) (Just got this... No assessment yet)
- Classical Acoustic (name brand unknown... Took off the nylon strings and put some electric 9's on. I know you should not do this but it sure made this guitar great for those camp fire blues sessions) (This guitar has been through the wringer)

Amps
- Peavy Rage 15W (excellent 2 channel practice amp)
- Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo (very good)

Electronics
- Ibanez LU10 Chromatic Tuner (good)
- Digiteck RP100A modeling/effect pedal
- Boss BR-600 Digital Recording Studio (excellent)
- Boss RC-2 Loop Station (excellent)
- Wireless Headphones (brand unknown)

I guess that's it...

Yeah, i liked it more than the other things i tried around its price range, which included an ibanez sz and a jackson dinky, the epiphone was about 100 dollars less but i just loved its feel : ]

i am a fan of epiphone. gibson is the holy grail for me and i just cant afford them right now since im a working stiff with a mortgage and a stack of bills. epi offers something that is more affordable and i think the feel and sound are closer to the real thing than some of the others. i like fender guitars too, but squire seems very poor to me. i am impressed by some of the epis, especially the higher end mods. there is a guy in my area who cuts and supplies wood for gibson and he is pretty involved. i have had several conversations w him about it and he told me that gibson seems to govern epis quality a little more than you might think. as far as im concerned it shows.
