Either a wah pedal or an auto wah pedal. Crybaby makes a good wah for pretty inexpensive, and Electro-Harmonics. I am an Ibanez man myself. The pedals seem to be more resilient to my abuse that I give them. The Weeping Demon wah is probably one of the better ones, in my book, especially for the money. Go try some out before you buy. Make sure that the sound is what you are looking for. Are you impressed by any certain artists wah effects?

I suggest Morley wahs. The Power Wah and Classic wah are fantastic. I use the Bad Horsie wah because i prefer the narrow sweep it has. The advantage to a morley is that they're electro-optical, meaning there's no gear teeth to wear down, no inductors to get dirty, none of the usual problems you run into with a standard wah pedal. That, and they're switchless, meaning as soon as you step on it, it starts working.

I do like those Morleys. I tried out the Bad Horsey, and the Mark Tremonti, and they were pretty cool.

Well, also some pickups have that "wah" feel in their sound, like the DiMarzio Fred and ToneZone...

an envelope filter is a way either close or open sweep on what your playing according to the attack of your playing

like every time you pluck a string the wah either opens or closes over your sound its cool

if your looking for a good one get a q-tron plus it has a built in effects loop and closes over all of your effects instead of being just another effect in your line

Flangers do sort of a wah thing. The tone will cycle from fat to thin at whatever rate you set it for. I have an Ibanez flanger that I'm fond of.

With Kisser I might be able to help you out. From the "Guitar World" March 07' issue.. "I try to keep it as simple as possible live, " states Kisser. "I don't use that much stuff in the studio either; I keep it pretty direct. I just use my Mesa/Boogies, my Cry Baby wah and sometimes a little chorus or delay." Onstage, Kisser prefers his Planet Waves cables to a wireless.
The only thing Kisser stomps when onstage is the pedal he loves most: his Cry Baby. Offstage, his tech, Silvio Gomes, switches his Boss Super Chorus in and out when required.
Even though his Mesa/Boogie Triaxis preamp has 90 user preset locations, Andreas uses only a couple of them. "My guitars are tuned to D and B flat, and I just have one Triaxis setting for each," he says. "Naturally, the B flat tuning has more lows, and I use heavier-gauge strings for the B flat guitar, too. On the Triaxis, that setting has a little less low end and maybe a little more high end."
This guy uses three MIM Stratocasters, all three have Floyds, and the pick-ups are Custom Fender Humbuckers in the bridge position and stock Fender single-coils for the middle and neck for all three.
He says his "secret weapon" is his Masa/Boogie Triaxis and Strategy 500. He started using them in 93' and they've been the body of his sound ever since.
His rack contains the following..
Mesa/Boogie Strategy 500 power amp
Rocktron Hush Super C
Mesa/Boogie Triaxis Preamp
Santa Angelo M6 Splitter
Furman PL-Plus & PL-8 Power Conditioners.

On the floor..
Dunlop Cry Baby Wah
Whirlwind A/B Selector
Boss CH-1 Super Chorus

All this is run through four Mesa Angled-Front 4x12 cabs Loaded with 75-watt Celestion Speakers. I basically put all this stuff in because you might be able to identify what he uses and modify it to fit your own needs. Good luck.

Well, I have the CF7 Chorus/Flanger from Ibanez. The Tone Lock pedal. I have found that I like it if I have it on a real slow setting. along with the delay set pretty high so it almost echoes. I have to get a new plug in chord for my CF7. I had to sacrifice it to the Weeping Demon wah. It has been well worth it. I just miss that true flange sound as when I am playing "10,000 Days" by TOOL. It has a nice sweeping sound to it that encompasses you.
