I have a Snarling Dog's Whine O Wah+ - I bought it before they were bought out and mine is hand wired. If they still make this model try it out - sure it looks cheese however the sweep is huge - like a gas pedal in a nice car. There is settings you can adjust for a traditional or a more ballsy wah sound, and you can adjust the center frequency [low, med and high] and on top of that there is a clean volume boost in there so that you can have a lead boost when it's on - sounds great overdriving a tube amp.
