I am starting to try out electric guitars so when I'm ready to buy one i will have a good idea on what i like, so I'm curious. What is in your opinion the best amp in the 80-120 dollar price range. So far my favorite guitar was a Jackson and I played all of the guitars out of a Behringer (sp?) amp

I would go a little above that price range and get a Roland Micro Cube for $125 plus tax.

you could consider a pocket pod for 129 bucks. and either use headphones or a pair of PC speakers till you can afford a bigger amp. With the pocket pod you'll have a ton of tones to play around with too.

Behringer makes some small amps that sound ok too and are pretty reasonable price wise.

I was gonna say POD too, but the pocket one which is the only close to your money range might be frustratingly awkward to tweak unless you can have it permanently hooked to your PC and use the pc software interface for it.

My only issue with suggesting a POD is the learning curve. It's nice once you learn it, but most beginners I know want to plug up and play immediately.

Check eBay. You can find Roland MicroCubes (which are awesome) and Tech21 Trademark 10's (which are equally awesome) for 100-120 easily.

Exactly... And the pocket pod will be probably even steepest, lacking the majority of usual knobs and buttons.

go with a fender, Marshall, or line6, if your not doing gigs, which i doubt you are cause you said beginner, go for one of those, my opinion those brands are top notch, remember practice isn't about being loud, its about working on your skills and sounding good.

My son has a Line 6 Spider III 15 watt amp. It's pretty nice and you can pick it up for about $100. I have the Fender G-Dec Junior that I got for $170ish and it's Ok, but I like my son's Line 6 better.

yea line 6 also is more likely to have effects so i strongly suggest that for beggining, it will allow you to expirement to see what you like and what you will need in the future
