Well, I got a Tube King distortion pedal for my birthday, so I was wondering if I needed to change the tubes. I know in tube amps that it has a little light that goes off when you need to change it and there is a orange light on my pedal so I was wondering that might be it.

uh.........the reality is that pretty much all tube amps will need a tube change at one point or another. but i have never seen an indicator light on one that told you when to change them. they usually just go bad. as for your pedal....i'm sure the light is just there to tell you when it's on or off. and i would imagine that after some years , you MIGHT have to change it out since it is a 12ax7 tube like one found in an amp.. i'm sure it came with a manual that should describe proper maintenance on the pedal.

I own one. It's in the manual. It's just like any maintenence, or repair. The reviews on the old ones were that they had to change it out once in like 12 years. So it should last plenty of time. What do you have it running to? I love my little Tube King. I have it hooked trough my Weeping Demon into my Roland Cube.
