I was just wondering, since so many people on this site like different styles, if anyone here likes hardcore or death metal. I don't personally like all of it, but I think that certain bands like Job For A Cowboy, Between the Buried and Me, Death, Daath, and Into Eternity are really good at what they do. Most people I know think that a lot of it is really repetitive, but the bands that actually do something inventive with the genre are extremely good. Anyone agree?

Hmmm. I think Devin Townsend does nicely with Strapping Young Lad, but that project doesn't really fall into those genres of death metal or hardcore eh? There are so many sub-categories and sub-genres I can't keep track. But he's still ridiculous...

I enjoy skinny skiing, heckling figure skaters, flamenco guitar, the blue stuff you put your combs in, good drummers, focaccia bread and coffee out of a french press

Oh, I like Death Metal more, for sure! Bands like Opeth (Progressive Death Metal), As Blood Runs Black, and Into Eternity are great bands.
