Buy at least one of these.

Paranoid- Black Sabbath
Warning- Green Day
Master Of Puppets- Metallica
Number Of The Beast- Iron Maiden
Highway to Hell- AC/DC
Back In Black- AC/DC
10,000 Days- Tool
Abbey Road- The Beatles
Band Of Gypsies (a.k.a. Jimi Hendrix)- Jimi Hendrix
Are You Experienced?- The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Toxicity- System Of A Down
Tenacious D- Tenacious D

Any of these suggestions should appease your appetite for extreme rockitude. Make sure you discover new bands by just going out and listening to music on your own.

hendrix, abbey road, californication, zep IV,

are the ones that automatically came to mind. i'm glad those got mentioned. Creedence clearwater is a great rock band, as is Bachman Turner Overdrive. but i think i'm delving into not as classic staple rock bands.

stuff like purple haze, i want you, come together, around the world, black dog....those songs you can't hate. the 5th album is tough. i don't know how metalish you can get. obvious choice is metallica's black album.

a more classic album would be the sabbath one, a more recent one would be something like...ok computer by radiohead. but that would be a totally different album than the rest.

Certainly been mentioned but I got to think that AC/DC is a poster child for "rock". Tons of others obviously but that's the first thing that popped in to my head.

Plenty of good suggestions already, just make sure you don't get him into any of the new age bullshit that circulates on the radio these days

I know I'm going to get blasted of the face of the fuckin earth for a few of my picks, but I like all different styles of guitar playing and rock, and I'm also looking at the album as a complete picture, not just a couple of kickass tunes, so here it goes...

1. David Bowie- Scary Monsters
2. Van Halen- Fair Warning
3. Marilyn Manson- Mechanical Animals
4. The Cure- Disintegration
5. Nine Inch Nails- the Downward Spiral
6. Public Image Ltd.- Metal Box
7. Steve Vai- Sex and Religion
8. Iggy Pop- Lust for Life
9. Depeche Mode- Songs of Faith and Devotion
10. David Bowie- Ziggy Stardust
