I am a recovering Led Zeppelin overdose addict, as in I had a period about 10 years ago where I listed to an insane amount of Zeppelin. I tried to play all kinds of Jimmy Page licks on guitar. I had the 4-box set on cassette and I used to play through it on 4 to 10 hour road trips and whenever I drove. Needless to say, I made myself and my friends sick of Led Zeppelin and I rarely have listed to them for the past several years. But I think in small doses I can handle it now.

My favorite songs back in the day were D'yer Maker, Rain Song, Over the Hills and Far Away, and What is and What should never be. I could still picture myself when I had long hair and I was headbanging to to 'What Is' in the car when Jimmy kicked on the distortion part. Scary.

I also think there's two types of people in this world. People who love Stairway to Heaven and Kashmir and people who hate them. And I've always been squarely in the latter.

I listened while blowin' doobs through High School in the 70's. Have some great memories of good things happening in those days -- and they were sound of that whole 'time'. These days, their stuff doesn't do anything for me ...

.. the other day, however -- I heard 'Rain Song'. What a nice piece o' work.

Also, ... a fan of the solo-piece within "What Is and What Should Never Be ..." great licks

I overdosed in high school, especially I, II, and IV. Less on Houses and Physical G. I get tastes here and there and have learned to appreciate the musicianship over the songs. Lately, I have been digging this live version of Immigrant Song (see embedded) They fucking tear it up. That groove is fierce like a stampede of wild buffalo.

I still cannot stand Robert Plant. His voice and lyrics never did anything for me. The worst is on Zeppelin I with Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You.

I listened to Zepplin back in the day and still have an appricaton for their acoustic work, but they never really got to me like they have to some on this site. But it is still good to listen to how much Jimmy played the 12 string, he had that thing all over the place.

What about Achilles' Last Stand? How about Nobody's Fault but Mine? I especially like the riff to Nobody's Fault but Mine. It's easy to play but it still has a good feel.

I love Zeppelin and to me Jimmy Page is the man, I love the Ocean especially the speeded up Vox, I love to play the Rain Song Since Ive Been Lovin You, Good Times Bad Times, Kashmir, Misty Mountain Hop, The Lemon Song, and What is and What should Never Be, Stairway Friends white Summer thank you and lots of others , I am a Zeppelin Fan and I always will be. they were a fantastic band in their hay day and still are. in my time of dying a pretty cool. I think Plant was a male Janis Joplin, a fantastic singer. his lyrics are a bit naff but hey no worse than some others of a similar stature.

I like "Gallows Pole" right now. A few years ago it was "Kashmir" before that it was "Black Dog"..... I believe Zeppelin was sued by Willie Dixon. It seems his daughter was at a party when somebody put on "Whole Lotta Love" and she recognized it as her father's song "You need love'" (or something like that.) Dixon took them to court and sued them successfully for an out of court settlement.

I listened to some Zep back in high school....it was just so so to me. Plant's voice grates on my nerves. The best thing I can say for them personally is that John Bonham managed to get some great drum sounds on their recorded work.
