I would say Metal is better as metal's bonecrunching rifs and licks require more talent than any M.C.R or Fall out Boy song. The ripper Kirk Hammet and Slayers Kerry King could definety out do Ray Toro and Joe Trohman in playing.

Being emo doesn't sound healthy to me...
Probably people said that about metal too, but being angry feels healthier than sinking in self-pity. So thumbs-up go to metal.



Anyway, the average metal musician is probably better than the average emo musician... so metal wins again.

I like both. I'm not hardcore emo, or a metalhead but they are both great. Emo is good because they hav My Chemical Romance, AFI, Jimmy Eat World, Senses Fail, Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, Mayday Parade, Mindless Self Indulgence, Taking Back Sunday, The Starting Line, Sugarcult, Panic! At The Disco, Rise Against, Say Anything, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, etc. But metal rocks hard too because they have Lamb Of God, Avenged Sevenfold, H.I.M., Black Sabbath, Disturbed, Korn, Linkin Park (kinda), Metallica, Tenacious D (haha kinda) P.OD., Underoath, etc. They both are good, but obviously metal has better guitar drums bass and everything like that, so metal musicians are probably better, but it depends on what you like. But in a rock off kind of thing, the riffs of metal (like laid to rest, bat country, beast and the harlot, Enter Sandman, One, etc.) could blow emo music out of the water. But you do have good riffs in emo (like the opening to MCR's thank you for the venom, the opening to jimmy eat world'd the middle, taking back sunday's whats it feel like to be a ghost, rise againt's prayer of the refugee, etc.) so in the end it just depends on what you like. But that's just my opinion.
