In music, the Arabic scale is arrived at by either:
Raising the seventh of the Jewish scale
Raising the seventh and third of the Phrygian mode
Lowering the sixth and second of a major scale

W-H-W-H-W-H-W-H is the diminished scale, not the Arabic scale. It's the standard jazz scale for a dim7 chord.

The Arabic scale is as noah and sallan posted: 1-b2-3-4-5-b6-7.This is a popular scale from Greece through Turkey, Iran and the Middle East to India, and is also known by the following names:

Major Gipsy, Persian, Double Harmonic Major, Bhairav That, Mela Mayamalavagaula, Raga Paraj, Kalingada, Second Byzantine mode, Hitzaskiar, Hijaz Kar, Suzidil, Maqam Zengule.

Oops, something needs clearing up here..

Dorian Bakx's scale - C-D-E-F-Gb-Ab-Bb-C - is indeed C "Arabian", according to one of my sources. (Another source lists it as "Major Locrian".)

But it's quite a different scale from the one noel, sallan and I were talking about, which would run C-Db-E-F-G-Ab-B-C. Here it is in the same position as the above one:
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
-------------4-5-4-------------
-------3-5-6-------6-5-3-------
-3-4-7-------------------7-4-3-
-------------------------------
It's true that my list of names for that scale doesn't actually include the word "Arabian" or "Arabic". But of course the scale is widely used in that part of the world - as are many others.
IOW, there is no single "Arabian" scale, but many.
Personally I think this one sounds more classically Arabic (to western ears) than the major locrian. It's the scale that was used for the song "Misirlou", Dick Dale's surf version of which was used in Pulp Fiction. In that one, he basically ran up the E string as follows:

-------------------------------
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
0--1--4---5--7--8--11--(12)-----
E F G# A B C D# (E)

Do you mean a harmonic minor scale, That is sounds quite Arabian. It is because of the augemented second.

For example, A B C D E F G-sharp A

Here would be a tab for that scale. When soloing, you just have to start on the A note, which would be the fifth string, the second fret third string, or the fifth fret of the first string. ( I am being as detailed as I can, seeing that I am not familiar with your knowledge. If I am being too detailed, please excuse me.)

Any scale like harmonic minor, double harmonic, major phrygian, octatonic can cut it as "arabian" in the broad sense. The common thing among them is multiple semitones mixed with 1 1/2 tone spacing and maybe whole tones
