To set the record straight before I share this guitar related story (again), I in no way proclaim Dave Carroll to be a person solving any significant problems or world issues. I am not even sure I would classify him as a smart guy or great musician. I do, however, find this story amusing. It is gratifying (at least to me) that he was able to hold a big corporation accountable using his guitar a video camera and a little creativity. I know this has been posted before and you are probably familiar with the story, but hang in there for the update at the end. United damaged Dave Carroll's $3500 Taylor ($1200 worth of damage). I know you might be saying "so what?". The dude has a $3500 Taylor; what's he wining about. The point is his guitar could be a $100 Oscar Schmidt; the airline broke it and the airline should fix it. Initially they refused, as many big companies will do, hoping you will tire of the fight and just go away. So Dave shot the attached video and put it on You Tube. It has had over 3 million hits and as a result United decided to reimburse Dave for the damages, and then some. In a more recent related event, there was another guitarists named Kevin Fox from Toronto (Also from Canada...Hmmmm?) traveling on Sunwing Airlines. He had his $2000 acoustic damaged. Again the airline initially refused to make good. He sent them the link to Dave's video, and all of a sudden they were ready to reimburse him. No not earth shattering or life changing, but hey the dude is a guitarists and g.com is a guitar site. Also he donated the settlement to a guitar school for underprivileged children and not matter what, that was pretty cool. Can't we give Dave just a little love?

I will give him some points for being able to write a song, which is more than I've done lately.
