Right...my french homework is to wirite an essay about music i like. BUT, yes there is a but.. i hate learning french it n jus cant wait to stop. so basically i agreed to do a homework, but what i really wanna do is spend most of the words on music genres.
so saying something like: J'aime la metal, heavy metal, metal noir, soft rock, hard rock etc.
and so taking up most of the essay space :D

so can u dudes give me a bunch of other genres, particularly in the rock world? :P
thanks lol

If french includes trying for a DELF certificate, I strongly advise you to take it a bit more seriously and not go down that lazy road you chose. I'm surprised you can negotiate your homework with the teacher. I've been talking french since I was a baby (it has gotten rusty lately) so I can't hate it even though it offers plenty of reasons to do so, the accent being one of those reasons.

well the thing is, i live in Cyprus and go to a private skool. i chose to do Greek, since its more handy over here lol, thinkimg they wouldnt make me do french also. but i was wrong. so im studying Greek ans improving leads, but french, i dno i jus hate learning it. the only reason I am able to negociate homework is coz the teacher know that the majority of the time, i either dont do the homework, or just not make an effort, so she gave up trying to force me lol. i jus said i'd do this 1 essay.

(serious question)

Is it true that Parisians feel insulted if you speak French poorly to them? I've heard that before but I don't know how true it is.

Well they sure ain't gonna reply to you if you talk in english so you might try with french. It's not like they can speak english better than you speak french...
But honestly I wouldn't know, because my french is(/was?) pretty good, accent too. :P

Just add "mais de temp en temps trés ennyuex." I slung that onto everything in my oral exam to flesh it out. It means "-but sometimes it's very boring."

So instead of saying, "I like hard rock," you'd have "I like hard rock, but sometimes it's very boring." It shows opinion and all that jazz. It doesn't matter if you're lying about it =P
