I'm liberal. I like how democrats generally are for universal healthcare. Republicans are usually not. I agree with you on the economics issue. The government shouldn't even bother with religion, since it should be a personal choice. From what I've read, Sarah Palin wants to have schools teach creationism (spelling?). That implies religion...
Gay people should have the same rights as straight people. That's all I'll say on that issue...
And making abortion illegal isn't going to stop people from doing abortions.

I like to think of myself as middle of the road, leaning more towards the conservative side.

I agree with a lot of the stances that both parties take, but some things I just can't accept. Mostly from the democrat side. i.e., abortion, same-sex marriage, etc etc.

I also think extremism in either case is completely wrong. To me, the ACLU can be insanely leftists to the point of being ridiculous sometimes. At the same time, hyper-conservative organizations that teach people it's ok to bomb abortion clinics are even worse.

In response to your gay stance...no, it doesn't hurt me. I have gay friends. I don't agree with their lifestyle, and they know it. But we can still be friends even in the midst of disagreeing on an issue. To me, realizing that human beings are more than just the sum of their political, religious, social, and ethical views is a big key that we miss out on. People are so quick to get angry at "flaming liberals" or "bible-beater conservatives" just because of the title and nothing else.

I took a vow to uphold and defend the constitution, so in whatever manner it is being interpreted, I will defend it as such. I'm in the military, and some people hate us and even spit and throw things at us (really stupid, since we are the guys with the automatic weapons...). I don't like that they do that, but outside of the spitting and hitting, they are perfectly within their rights to express their dislike of the military, and I will go to my grave to make sure they continue to have that right.

I just hope people realize that somewhere, sometime, there's someone who died to make the world a safer and more free place for them. DE OPPRESSO LIBER.

yeah. i understand people have their own views on gay rights. i just dont think it is right that the govornment wants to hold them back so much. we are not all going to turn gay.

it depends on the subject...if its drugs and prostitution i'm a liberal...if its capital punishment i'm for it. Gay people should be able to get married and butt plug each other anytime they want....I think abortion is murder but i think it should also be legal and so I am prochoice/muder. Yeah its murder but it should be the woman's right to kill her own baby if she wants to. you want to bring another unwanted child into the world? i'm all for stem cell research...etc....i guess i'm only a conservative with the exception of capital punishment thing...i'm 100% for the middle class and 100% for the environment and yeah global warming exists and we as a human race are responsible....i am also for alternative power. we really do not need to use up resources when alternatives can put us on the map and also ensure natural wild life, ozone etc.... solar power!!!!!!wind!!!!! we don't need gas or oil...
