A COLORADO judge has sentenced people busted for noise pollution to one hour of listening to unpopular or unusual music.

Mostly young adult offenders were kept in a room and made to listen to Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You, Karen Carpenter and Barry Manilow with the volume up loud, CBS4Denver.com reported.

So, we're into unusual forms of torture in Colorado. (Like the Broncos winning their games in the last second even though they're #1 in offense in the NFL.) My son has to go to 4 classes because of a trespassing/loitering ticket. (Dumb shit.) My wife wonders if they're going to teach him how not to stand around. (I wish they'd teach him how to get a job!)

The real telling matter is if this one hour of bordom will curb their practice of playing their music too loudly. Personally, I bet it won't. Giving up an hour of bordom is really a small price to pay for violating the local noise ordinance. It's a slap on the wrist.

Well, if you really hate the type of music you are made to listen to, it might be an experience you might not be ready to go through, at least not for a while...

Good thing is I'm pretty tolerable to music, so I'd be bored but not too horrified. One woud have to look real hard and find really horrible music to make me reconsider. The other good thing is, I don't live in Cali =P , and here I don't think there is any sort of *enforced* penalty for noise.

I can think of several styles of music I hate listening to. But if I had to listen to music I hate as opposed to paying a fine, I'd do that in a heartbeat. Piece of cake!

I was never a fan of Barry Manilow musically, but I can dig the fact that he didn't want to be interviewed by Elizabeth Hasselbeck on The View. I have new respect for him now :)

Speaking of The View a clip from it came across my desk where one of the women is really not sure if the earth is flat or round. Embedded for your viewing pleasure.

I saw that clip on E!'s The Soup, it's somewhat unbelievable. Is she being facetious or what (you can't tell :-/)?
