OK guys it's time for a new question...

What other non-guitar-related things are you into? And yes, anything studio-related = guitar-related for this thread...

Personally, I have 3 other BIG things that I do a lot beisdes guitar.
PAINTBALL - I mega-insanely-disproportianately love paintball. I have 4 markers and a 5th one that's in the process of being built. My first one was a Brass Eagle Stingray II Ice that's been modded like no other (have you ever seen a stingray with a regulator and e-trigger?). My second was a Tippmann 68 Carbine that I also modded a lot. My next one was a Spyder Xtra that I turned into a scenario mil-sim gun...it's currently in possession of my brother. My last one and personal fav is my Smart Parts Ion that I also modded to be a scenario mil-sim gun. The one I'm working on is another Ion (I loved the first one so much, I had to buy another!!) that I'm custom-building from the ground up.

CARS - I have 2 cars that I keep around, only one is driveable at any one time though because I love to work on them. My first one is a Mitsubishi 3000GT Turbo that's pretty much bone-stock. I drive it too much to worry about modding it, and import modding requires tons of $$ usually. My second (and favorite) is a '74 Nova fastback. This one *is* modded quite a bit...blown z-28 302 (yes, Chevy DID make a z-formula 302. I have a GM poster I got from a dealership that displays all the Z-28 motors Chevy ever made...and the last one on the list is a 302. Came in a 67-69 Camaro, I believe.) that produces over 450hp at the wheels. I've had it timed and it'll do 11.2 in the quarter-mile. I love that car!!

ARMY STUFF - I'm in the reserves and I get to do a *TON* of cool stuff. Everything from jumping out of airplanes to riding in tanks to blowing stuff up. Who doesn't like to blow stuff up? Seriously? My current position is in my company's S-6 shop keeping the radios and computer networks in working order. I'm trying to go to Warrant Officer school or OCS though eventually, so we'll see what happens there.

Come on guys share it! And don't be afraid to give the details!

Since I can't talk about my studio...

Carpentry [I am building my entire studio myself], both building and artish kinda jazz. I am currently making some xmas gifts because, well, I recently bought a house and am gonna be cheap this season.

Photography - I take pictures and such whenever I get the chance. I got a great camera on sale, and it just kinda took over.

Electrical stuff - I build stuff and wire up stuff and fix stuff. It's fun.

Video games - I really like operation flashpoint/amrmed assault, and rainbow 6... prefer the strategy and realistic ones, but because of the times, I've been playing rainbow 6 vegas, which is more of an arcade shooter than a sim. On my flashpoint team, I am sniper, medic, and co-pilot/gunner - in rainbow 6 3 I am team leader and head planner, and in vegas I am supposed to be a sniper but end up running around with a pistol and swat shield.

Attatched is a picture of one of the said gifts-in-progress... as soon s the stain darkens the wood enough I am gonna fill in the cracks with a really dark wood filler paste and give it to my thundercats-obsessed friend.

Yup! FPS's take up way too much of my time. I play COD online alot. COD4 is what I've been playing lately. Other that that's, I'm an amature military historian, and I used to be a hardcore amature astronomer. I plan on picking that hobby up again when I get more time. - What do I do in the evenings, practice my guitar of stargaze? Practicing my guitar won out.

haha, i'm pretty into fps's also, i love COD2 but i haven't tried COD4 to, i hated 3 though. I'm basically a audiophile in progress, and i listen to Drum and Bass pretty much constantly. DJ Hype is probably my favorite for that. in case anyone else is into that . . .my home theater setup consists of a Klipsch C-2 for the front's and Klipsch quintets for my fronts and backs. I need to get new fronts though, i'm hoping to buy some Paradigm Moniter's or something of the sort, for my sub i have an SVS 20-39 PC+. I'm also know how to build a computer etc, but i'm not nearly as into that as with speakers.

COD3 isn't really COD. All the COD's worth anything were developed by Infinity Ward. COD3 wasn't. COD4 is AWESOME! The SP levels are a bit short, but the action is intense from start to finish. They're very well done! I highly reccomend COD4!

I tried call of duty 4... the graphics were amazing [in their own way - rainbow six vegas' graphics are also amazing in their own way... but in a different way] but the gameplay was just not for me... as I said, the more realist or strategy based they are, the more I like 'em.

but for you gamers, check out armed assault 2 coming out for the 360/ps3 next year, and operation flashpoint 2: dragon rising. Been waiting for that one for 7 years!!!

On a regular basis:

I'd say videogames too. I'm not a hardcore gamer but I am known to waste several hours ramming cops in NFSMW and shooting off people's heads in BF2142.

Normally I'd add Karate. I'm a 2-dan black belt but lately I'm starting to lose interest. Our trainer is pushing hard in a direction that is my least favorite and seeing as I can be working at the Uni instead, the latter is starting to gain ground. I think I'm gonna skip training this month.

Computer programming is not really a hobby. It's part of my work at the Uni. I'm an advanced rookie but writing code is fun, or it least it is as long as I can eventually find out within a day or two why my program (one or two pages of code usually) doesn't work.

Non-regular basis:

I like fixing/assembling etc stuff but usually I don't have anything interesting to work on so I don't care to find time for that.

In the winter, when the weather spares us with some snow, I like to hit the slopes. I suck but it's fun.

When the weather is not too cold and I'm not aching or something, I like to ride my bicycle to the Uni. Riding in traffic is not much fun per se, but moving when all the cars are stuck is rewarding.

Cool! I probably should have given honorable mention to the martial arts...I love sparring and anything involving hand-to-hand combat. Hence me being in the Army and not the Air Force ;)

Funny thing is, I spent my formative years learning the more non-practical forms...Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do, etc etc. It looks pretty but in real combat is nearly useless. I found that out real quick when I joined the Army.

So now I'm looking at trying to take up the more practical stuff...Jiu Jitsu, Practical Karate, Kickboxing, Boxing, etc. I *did* just graduate level one in the Army combatives program, so I guess that's about as practical as it gets.

On an aside, there's a personal pet peeve of mine that is rampant in the entire martial arts community: the refusal to accept firearms as a legitimate weapon. Those who claim that it's easy and any 5 year old can kill someone with a gun has obviously never tried to shoot. It takes years to develop breath control, trigger squeeze, and a steady aim. I have just spent the past 2 developing my reflexive-fire techniques for close combat. It's NOT easy. They also claim they're not "honorable" weapons. Personally, I don't see any difference between a gun and a bow and arrow, or a thrown spear or dart. It would be the greatest of fallacies to ignore a weapon's value just because you think it's dishonorable to use it. Honor or not, a gun can still kill you because it doesn't give two steaming shits about honor. And you would do well to learn how to use one, how to tell if it's loaded or unloaded, or if the safety is on, things like that.

End rant.

Other than guitar, Id say Im into motorcycles... i love to go out and ride.. I have a CR 250 and it needs to be sailed off a couple of jumps often. Next, i like doing computer art stuff like all those fancy signature pics you see on other forums. I'm into paintball too, but not lately because my local field shut down and i have no where to play. That, and my gun isnt so great... I have a spider rodeo. Umm, i play video games too, but not that much due to everything being 3rd gen now on ps3 and 360. im stuck with a ps2 and nothing is coming out for it. finally, cars.. My dad and are are looking for me a 98'+ Camaro right now. I had a 87 rolling chassis camaro, but we traded it off due to all the rust and stuff. little side note, i can build a computer and have been trying to learn coding, but dont have the time anymore.

Back in the day I used to practice tiger-style kung-fu - I was pretty into it and got up to the brown sash but kinda lost interest... besides being sucked into a few fights in high school for it [you know.. "WHat, that little guy is in Kung-Fu? I bet I can take him..."] adn a few party brawls it's not been useful. I thought about getting back into it in the last few years but they want me to start at the very bottom [which is fine] with no chance of regaining my status, even if I get right back into it and train my way back to where I was.

Yeah that's the thing that really sucks...whenever you go somewhere new they pretty much usually expect you to start over. And the ranking system is different...a yellow b
