There is no one meaning when it comes to TOOL. They try and leave it open to interpretation. You might want to COSM.org, and check out Alex Gray's art work, and his philosophies. Alot of Tool's music on Lateralus is stemmed from their inspiration by his art work. But don't let that be the lesson only, because they always tell you to think for yourself, question authority. Parabola is a love song to an extent. It is about coming to conclusion of being familiar with the here and now, with another, and feeling alive in the moment instead of worrying about what is next. At least this is my interpretation of it. Watch it again. Go off of the emotional play not what your mind thinks it sees. I have all of TOOL's videos, including two bootlegs of their concerts, since they have not put out a live DVD, before. Sorry to Maynard, but their shows make me feel more and different , good, bad, emotional..etc.
