Yeah, it's true. But it's a badge of honor ;) This gun is amazing. This is only after 40 rounds. The sad thing is, I also have a .308, .300 win mag, and I've fired pretty much everything from a .17HMR all the way to a 50 BMG. This is by far the worst shoulder stripe I've ever had. I guess that's what happens when you have a 208 grain bullet leaving the muzzle at 3000 fps.

But I'm enough of a pansy that I have a recoil pad on order for it ;)

P.S. Yes, I have freckles and can't tan for shit. Comes with having red hair. So sue me.

Oh just FYI, before anyone jumps on me about this...I don't normally seat the rifle where the big bruise is. That red vertical stripe is where it went for all but 5 rounds. The big one is from pulling my head to the side while it was sandbagged so I could get a better idea of the POI.

That's not bad... I had a very smart friend who once took a double barrel 10 gauge, I believe, shot both barrels without putting it solid against
his shoulder. Same genius also got a nice bruise on his eye for firing a 45 pistol (he was drunk) right next to his face, slide came back and caught him in his eye. Smart guy. Needless to say, we tried to keep him away from firearms after that.

Is this the surplus Russian you have? I was at a rifle range several years ago and this guy, I didn't even know him, let me fire his 375 H&H Magnum. I was holding the rifle just a bit off the shoulder because I had been firing my 7mm Remington mag for most of the day and my shoulder was pretty sore, plus the 7mm mags were pretty hot loads. So they guy hands me his rifle, I take aim but I have the stock embedded in the crease, instead of on the shoulder because it was so sore. I squeezed the trigger and seperated my shoulder the second the gun went off, (I had seperated it lifting weights a few months earlier), the shoulder went right back in but talk about pain city..jeeze.

Cool! I'm thinking of getting into airsoft. Anyone done that? Actually I have a cheap clear airsoft fully auto gun, but my wife has expressed serious concern so it's still in it's packaging. I've read there are airsoft clubs that have events that play out whole tactical scenarios.
