I'm finishing up Crysis. Pretty damm cool, if your PC can handle the graphics.

It's a normal FPS with single- and multiplayer. It has everything from stealth to "rambo" and from soldiers to alien bosses. It has huge demands if you plan on maxing out the graphics. It has severale spectacular in-game scenes I wish I could make screenshots and use them as wallpapers.

COD4 does indeed rock! Awesome game!

BTW, avoid Medal of Honor Airborne. It sucks quite badly.

No, I can't afford them maxed out. But on certain levels I have been able to get pretty close, leaving just the textures one step before top (not like you'll notice much difference unless you put your mission aside for a while and go site-seeing ;) ).
I'm Athlon 5600+ with Nvidia 8800GTS 640MB and 6GB RAM ... (no the game doesn't need that much ram). And of course Vista with DirectX 10, that is responsible for everything.

In vast open spaces and when particles and shaders etc go up in some levels I have to back down on the graphics to keep the frame flow playable.

It should be able to run quite comfortably, except for the fact that directX 9 won't be able to produce the effects that directX 10 can. So even if you run it maxed out, it just won't be the same, visually. You can play the game and enjoy the gameplay but crysis got its reputation for its graphics.

I really liked Condemned: Criminal Origins... I know, it's old... but hey, you're playing fable so :P I played it on 360, don't know if it's out for PC. I will also suggest Mass Effect, that one is good even though spacey crap doesn't interest me in the slightest.

KOTOR i liked even though it's old. Mass Effect was good. Oblivion's guild's were awesome but i didn't like much else. Morrowind (the older elder scroll) is even deeper than oblivion i think. Fable 2 should come out this year i think. and Fallout is coming out this year. looks cool to.

Hellgate London is pretty fun, but if you don't like games like Diablo 2, I wouldn't suggest it. If you havn't play Warcraft 3 and the expansion i highly recommend that.

OK nerd alert!

Silent Hunter 4 is an awesome sub SIMULATION game. Graphics are great and there's alot to it to love, but you gotta be into naval games to appreciate it. I think it's it's awesome! But then again, I'm a computer programmer, amateur military historian, and I used to watch all of the Star Trek shows, so I think I qualify as a nerd.

Oh man! It's awesome. You can move around and view the action from a number of prosepctives. You can dive under the surface and follow the torpedo as it travels through the water. You can even follow the Japanese ship as it plunges to the deep. And if the water's shallow enough you can inspect the wreck at the bottom. The ship models are done quite well, and it would take a nerd (like me) to detect inaccuracies. You can even watch the crewmembers of doomed ships enter a state of panic. The only GLARING problem is not any fault of the developers. Maddox is a Russian outfit. These are the guys who released the Il2 series. There's some legal issues where Grumman will not allow their planes to be modeled by a foreign outfit. Actually, I think it's more to do with the US government than the manufactures. So you have Brewster Buffalos on the US carriers and British Lancasters with American markings as patrol bombers. But these are issues that are quite livable with.

Battlefield 2142

Hands-down the greatest multiplayer game I've ever played in my life (yes, including Call Of Duty 4).
It's a PC FPS, and it came out in 2006 so the graphics might not be kind to older computers. There's a singleplayer mode, but it gets boring after a while because killing AI just isn't as satisfying as real people who have skill haha. But if you get on a big server and squad up, it gets SO intense! And the maps are huge, it literally takes ten minutes to run across some of the bigger ones with infantry, but there are tanks/jeeps/helos/etc. I love it.
