I took this picture a few months ago. I often watch from this view while I practice on the guitar. It's a picture of the farm next to my back yard.

I see a 382 yard, par 4, slight dogleg to the right.
Nice view Fred.

My view is changing. Usually I'm in the studio or in my living room, but with the advent of much nicer weather, I often move outside to play. Because of that, I decided, this year, to build a place to play outside. The front porch gets a little crowded and, while it's covered and pretty much out of the weather, there's really not enough room to sit across from someone.

It's not finished quite yet. This photo was from a week ago, but the roof is on and we only have the ceiling and trim left to do. No real rush here. It's still not all that warm in Denver.

Not bad for an old bald guy, I guess. I had no actual plan for this other than that it would have 8 sides. Now that it's almost done and I've added up the cost, I find I could have bought a kit! The drawback there is that a kit, #1 wouldn't have matched the 104 year old construction on my house and it would have cost about $10,000. I'm bringing this one in under $2500 and it matches almost perfectly.

If I walk 2 blocks, so I'm clear of town, this is my view...

I'm always wondering what it looks like where you guys are. We have people all over the US as well as Australia, Nova Scotia, Denmark, Greece, and Indonesia to name a few.

Yeah, I just have a view of neighbors on each side and behind. And the cul-de-sac out front. I'm only five minutes from the beach though. too bad I sun burn in like 3 seconds :(

I'm kinda jealous. Your guys live in really nice areas (scenery wise anyway)

Oh yeah, and Xark; you also get the satisfaction of doing it all youself instead of just throwing a kit together so to speak. Excellent job!!

Nice gazebo Xark! Love that mountain scene too! I always picture Colorado that way, wide open with lots of mountains and no cities. God, I'm homesick for a place I've never been to.

Well, scenery isn't everything! Colorado is a bit... different when it comes to weather. Didn't get above 50 degrees the past two days and we had snow in May. The only month I've never seen snow here is August. It's also VERY dry as this is high plains desert. I lived with massive humidity all my life and just love it here. It's not the same for everyone. The mountain in that pic, (Long's Peak,) is located in Rocky Mountain National Park about a 45 mile drive from where I live and about 20 miles in a straight line. I actually don't mind being away from the water as I lived my whole life before moving here in marshy areas, or completely surrounded by the ocean. Though Denver was just voted one of the 5 most friendly cities in the US and I'll agree. I'm 35 miles north of there. All in all I think it's a great place to live. No hurricanes. No major earthquake threat. An ocassional tornado, but it's about the same as anyplace you might choose to live when it come to those events. Unless you live in tornado alley. The one we had last week started about 4 miles north of my house and was the first in almost 30 years to do any significant damage on the front range. Floods are a minor threat too, but do happen about as rarely as a tornado. Generaly we get 320 days a year of sunshine leaving only about 45 days without. It's when the sun isn't shining you have to watch your back.

I live in Pennsylvania now where it's still humid, but I grew up in Baltimore. You don't have too many tornadoes, no earthquakes. The only problem you have with Baltimore is getting shot. It's motto is "The city that reads" but everybody from Baltimore changes it to "The city that bleeds." The humidity in Maryland can be total hell and it gets worse the further south you go. I lived in Houma, La. for several months and I think that was the worse humidity I've ever felt. Lots of bugs too, but at least they weren't armed, well that one in the basement was.
