This is my first video blog and I hope it helps some beginners. The Major Pentatonic Scale is so simple but I am surprised at how many people dont know it or use it.

The major pentatonic doesn't fit well with the I-IV-V progression. You gotta fudge a bit to get to that IV chord. To me, it's not as intuative as the minor pentatonic scale. Maybe you can discuss applications for major pentatonic.

You are right. There is not a note that matches the IV chord. When I get my looper I will post some examples on how to deal with that when you are playing 12 bar blues. I am glad you noticed that.

I think pentatonic major resolves perfectly on the 1 chord in blues as a movement from the 3rd bar of a section, as it does in redhouse aka Hendrix, its the only place I can play it in a blues style, you can switch between Maj and min perfectly in the solo to communication breakdown, but i find it very easy to play it in a yakaty axe kind of way, I must admit that it takes a lot more thought for me to use it in a Thin Lizzy kind of way. the most common application is the country style, its the not making it sound country thats the hard part for me, and maybe why its not as popular amoung rock guitarists but theres always the song remains the same by led zep. Nice one johnny, bout time someone praised the mighty major pentatonic.

Johnny, I think I will have to disagree with ya dude. Since the "major pentatonic" scale is actually a major scale minus the 4th and 7th notes (1-2-3-5-6), I find it to be bright and flirty, working well with most jazz mixes...
...there must be some kinda way out of here
