Well... She never showed. No call. No email. No word at all.

I'll give her the benefit of the doubt here as she's got a little life in her belly that causes all kinds of issues and if she's got "morning sickness" half as bad as my daughter does, then she's got every reason in the world to not come and sing at the studio.

I'll still go ahead and finish the two songs I was going to have her work on, but I sure would have liked to have gotten a female voice for these.

Hope you're OK, Liz!

That's a shame, but I was wondering about it as we haven't heard anything from either of you this week. Hope you are OK MizzLizz.

Cool dude. We sometimes look for people because we just can't do everything ourselves. The unfortunate part is that we also don't pay. There are some great pros here, but when you're charging $400 minimum... Not that they're not worth it, but it's more than I can put into a small project. Most of our own stuff we do for fun, though this was meant to eventually end up on a CD. Can't promise any kind of payment, though we've put together a schedule of involvement and, depending on sales, everyone will get a cut of some dimension.

I understand.. She is a pro and there is the rub. It's not the money but if she has the time or is even in Co right now. I'll try her today/tomorrow and let you know.. I don't promise anything for other folks but she has helped me in the past.

No prob Duane. Love working with pros, but tend to find unknowns that satisfy my needs. (Sounds like I'm talking about hookers. Guess the music business can be like that.)

Don't sweat it. Appreciate the offer, but will in NO way expect someone who does this for a living to do something for free.

I might just run my own "American Idol" competition to find someone who can do what I need. There's lots of local talent and I'm sure there are a lot of folks who would LOVE to have the opportunity to be involved.

It's recent, SATAN. Think she posted it about 2 weeks ago.

Was really looking forward to her singing in the studio, but... I completely understand as she was having issues eating, wanting to eat and keeping it down. (My daughter gets this so bad she's on medication just so she can eat. She's still on meds and is due in October. Sucks to the max.)

Isn't she from Utah? That's a good drive through the rockies to get to Denver. Especially while pregnant. And morning sickness is pretty miserable. But still, she should have called. I hope she's OK too.

I hear morning sickness can be down right nasty. I hope she and the little rock n' roller are well.

Xark... really man, it's no biggie let me see what she says. We all do things "on spec" (read for free) from time to time. What's the worse that can happen? She doesn't do it and you're right where you are now.. No harm no foul I say.

Duane -

Up to you man. If it goes, great! If not, well, then, as you say, I'm no worse off than before. This is also not a critical need, but a desire, so whatever happens, I'm good with it.

dc - Yeah, she's from Utah and was headed to Denver with hubby and 2 year old son last weekend. She was supposed to be here Saturday for a couple hours for the recording, but, who knows?
