Hi!

I have penned down some lyrics.

I need your help...... what chords must i play for these?

I am going to tell my friend how much i love her through this song

"Everywhere I go,
I think of her.....
Every second she's on my mind......

I don't mind spending everyday, on her beck and call..........

I'll keep her happy all the while.....

But will she ever be mine?"

PLEASE help me with the chords and if you have a few lines to add or edit please post 'em

Thanks!!

I hate to break this to you but I bet someone wrote lyrics just like that before they sound really familiar.
This is one song that came of mind.

I would use maj and minor in open position , I mean Iam thinking here a little mainstream poppish, its upbeat but not too cheesy ya know?

Well the first thing you need to do,is find what key you want to sing the song in,or the key of your voice.Once you find that out.sing the melody of that song and use your guitar to back it.There is so much you need to know about music theory,Music theory would help you out a lot with the relationship between notes, chords, and scales.Unless you have a great ear.

Please for the love of god dont sing those lyrics to a girl. Girls like guys with balls who takes charge, especially those the age I imagine you are. If you sing those pussy lyrics to her calling yourself her lap dog, you are guaranteed to be put in the 'friendship' category for life.

Maybe not for life. After they get their hearts broken a few times by the mucho kind of guys, the sensitive type starts looking more appealing. Or at least I hope so...

I think Jason is right. I hear her telling you what a sweet song it is, she's very flattered, and...the kiss of death...I'd really like to be just friends. I would save those lyrics though. Don't get rid of them, I just don't think they're the ones you want to use for her. Instead, be honest and sincere, (don't say anything you don't mean), and sing about her. It's all about her! What do you like about her, physically, (hair, eyes, smile, don't go near the boobs), emotionally, the little things she does that are unique to her. That's how I would do it anyway. Others may have a different approach. I remember being in love with a girl when I was 14. She was all I thought about. It was horrible.

to me
coming from you
friend is a four letter word

end is the only part of the word
that I heard
may be morbid or absurd

but to me
coming from you
friend is a four letter word

-Cake

I love this song.

you need to come up with a melody first. Then you can base your chord progression off of that.

i say ask her out and then write the song. if she says yes play it upbeat (maj key, maybe some penatonic licks), if she says no play in minor key (penatonic licks with minor tweeks) and if she says go fuck yourself fuckface then go drop d and rock the bar chords.

to be serious though, compose to an emotion, not to words. you can have any words you want if the emotion your feeling is what it sounds like you'll get your point across

Everyone writes differently, so I'm going to speak for myself. If I write words before the music, the lyrics tend to be incredibly banal and vacuous, as much as I try them not to be. What I do is come up with a chord progression first. Now, the type of song I want it to be affects the progression. Some songs are incredibly simple and some songs have multiple, multiple parts. The key is to get the mood and base the simplicity/complexity music on what you're shooting for. The lyrics that you've shared here seem to be that of a very simple song. Now, simple songs are great and, in my opinion, the best songs I've ever written have been the simplest. If you have a simple chord regression, you're (at least for me) able to fuck around with the melody a bit, not too different from rap. In rap, the music allows for a lot of variation in melody, speed, rhyme techniques, etc. of delivery. If you have a simple chord progression, you are less inclined to keep the melody standard and are more free to change it up from verse to verse, though of course, that isn't necessary. I like to play the progression that fits the mood and simplicity/complexity of what I'm trying to convey through song, and then I record it and sing over it with a stream of thought at the same time. If you don't already have words, you can make them up as you go and you are able to mess with the melody more. You'd be surprised with what you can come up with off the top of your head. 99.99% of the time, you'll have to change lines and words and what not, but the message of the song, for me, is truer when you just use stream of thought.

If you feel so inclined, check out www.myspace.com/thewinonalongryders and check out SIX. All of my songs are written in the way I described. However, SIX is a new song that I wrote when I was in your very position-sometimes it's easier to tell a girl how you feel through song. Check it out, it may be some good inspiration.
