This is easy to do if, for example, you plug your guitarist's amp into the onstage socket, and your mixer into the socket at the back of the house. These separate points will have differe...

2 conductor humbucker
I have an old Ibanez that I am dusting off. The neck is stamped as an RG 550. However the pickup configuration is odd for a 550. It is H S S. I am using the stock pick ups. The humbucker is a 2 conductor. 1 red wire, 1 white wire. and a braided ground. I also have a new 5 way switch. As strange as it sounds, I have never wired a 2 conductor humbuc...

DIY Speaker Cabs
I'm considering building my own speaker cabs and I'm looking for blueprints for either a 2x12 or 1x12 design. Essentially I think it's basically just constructing a box to put the speakers in and then finding a covering or finishing the wood, but I'd like to at least attempt to build the cab the right way rather than slapping it together. I kno...

Graphic Equalization to eliminate feedback
I figured I`d write a little ditty on using that EQ you have on your PA system to drive out feedback. But first, let`s discuss what feedback is, and what causes it - and why you eed to avoid it beyond the obvious reasons. Feedback is when a particular frequency gets amplified, hits a microphone, gets reamplified, rinse, repeat. It does this at a...

Bright brown "lines" on my acoustic neck...
I bought a Cort MR-740FX acoustic guitar about two years ago. I bought new strings for it about two weeks ago and decided to clean it a bit, I bought D'Andrea Lemon Oil and used it sparingly on the fretboard. I then wiped it away with a dry soft piece of cloth. The dirt from my fingers was totally removed and the fretboard became very clean, but no...

Fixing Loose Neck
I have a '88 Kramer Nightswan. Unfortunately, due to the guitar being used so much, the neck has become slightly loose. The bolts are still tight but the neck is shifting up an down, this is causing the guitar to go out of tune. What is the best, or any way, to fix a loose bolt-on neck like this???

Drop Tuning with FLOYD ROSE
HI everyone. I just bought a Schecter c-1 FR Hellraiser and I'm really happy with it, the floyd is working pretty well no problems. I got it in standard tuning but 90% of the stuff i play is in drop d (just the E dropped to D). How should I do this? there are a lot of articles out there but none of them help. Should I unlock the nut for the E & A s...

Need metal pedal advice
I need a new distortion pedal. I'm playing a boss MT-2 and have been for about 10 years. Well, after much soldering, it finally bit the dust. Is there a more adjustable pedal out there with two stomp buttons for more drive that i don't know about? The big metal muff isn't meaty enough, and the Vox Saturate is just pathetic for metal. Any help...
