In case you're wondering, yes I did just join. Anyway, I has question: I have a Randall RG150H that I bought secondhand from a guy I knew from a church I went to a few times and jammed with a little. The only thing I've had to do to it yet is replace the input jack (the piece of shit was made of plastic and the threads were stripped, so I got one made of metal) and it gave me no trouble until recently. At high volumes, the clean channel (the one I use because I have an RP200 for all my niftey sounds) likes to cut out and get all staticky. My first thought is replacing it because replacing parts is really little trouble and not as daunting as it seems, but I haven't been able to find a 100K ohm audio taper pot with a push-pull switch anywhere. Any place I can get one or at least cure the problem with the existing unit? Any suggestions?

I would like to know a little more on the repair side myself. My Roland Cube30 gives a little pop every now and again. My guitar gives a little static when I am moving my volume as well. Would contact cleaner work on the guitar side? It seems you are handy on repair if you know about changing out jacks and things.

*chuckle* It isn't that hard; just heat up your iron, loosen the defective part, put the new one in and solder it in place. I also used contact cleaner on the clean channel volume and it worked great, so the same could happen with your guitar, but it's never as good as replacing it. What kind of guitar do you have and can you tell me more about the pop on your Cube 30?

I have an Ibanez Sz320. I have a tube pedal, and I believe that my connection cable from my Tube King to my wah was old. Thanks. The guitar, the static is when I turn the volume knob on my fret pickup up or down. I have been told this is a common thing.

Yeah, pots just wear out and you can clean 'em (which helps 'em along for a while) or just replace them (the best idea, personally). But, now I'm interested in what kind of signal chain you're running because I originally thought you were going straight into your amp. What all do you use?

NaturalProgressive. Try emailing Randall and ask them for schematics for your amp and the replacement pot. They should let you know the part number and cost for the pot, and they may even email you the schematic for no charge at all. I have schematics for my Peavey Ultra212 amp and my Digitech GNX2. Both were sent to me by the manufacturer, free of charge.

*smile* Awesome; thanx much. I'll try the e-mail thing, but I need the actual part. I've had it apart already, I know what everything is, where it goes and what to do, but I don't have the part I need.

The actual part, that's what I mean. Once, I sheared off the knob of one of my volume pots lugging my Peavey amp around. I needed the exact part. Peavey sold me the exact part for just about $6 including shipping. That's what I expect Randall will do for you.

Well, I e-mailed Randall and I got an 800-number to call and order whatever, so now I just need the cash to do so. And, I'm bumping this thread so anyone else with gear troubles can come and ask whoever. Thanx for all the assists!
