I recently bought a fender standard strat and i love it. The sound is great and so is the body, but i think the neck is hideous. I like the neck on my ibanez much more and i was wondering if it is possible to put an ibanez or any other neck on a srat body. I wouldn't dare mess with my new strat but if any other necks are interchangeable please let me know. i would like to experiment with an old squier.

Maybe I'm just an insane kid who doesn't appreciate the history or greatness of a strat... idk.

If its a bolt on Id imagine just find another neck that fits but you may want to find a local guitar shop with a good luthier to be sure.

it's a bolt on. Just find one you like, be damn sure the scale and the neck pocket is the same and cut correctly and slap it on.

warmoth www.warmoth.com has some of the best necks around...including strat replacement necks and the strat warmoth pro series...also USACG http://www.usacustomguitars.com/ makes great necks..

you can check ebay for an ibanez neck but make sure the fit it good. i'm certain that some of them will NOT fit correctly. you have to find out about the hole screws and the fit to make sure it will work. i've seen strats with charvel necks i think or vice versa? make sure it fits.

yeah, what Leif said.

Warmoth actually makes necks specifically for the strat with lots of different options. although you may want to do some research on the pro's and cons of the different neck options they offer before buying one so you know ahead if the neck is going to have the desired feel.

I just found a neck i like on guitarfetish.com

It doesn't cost much at all, but that kind of makes me wonder... does anyone know if they sell quality guitar parts for the price?
