Anyone here install a Bigsby or had a Bigsby installed on their axe? If so, what guitar was it and did you make any additional modifications like

- A new bridge
- A new nut
- New saddles

I am thinking about putting one on my SG and want to know if it is as simple as attaching the unit to my guitar.

No useful information I'm afraid. I just wanted to vent my love for Bigsby's.

Would only ever get one on a LesPaul or Tele though. Not sure why. Just love the look on those models.

i put one on an old harmony les paul for a friend. It involved a small amount of drilling, but thats it. It was a b70, and required very little modification. The nut and bridge stayed the same, but i did smooth out the saddles first.

Don't they make roller nuts and saddles for Bigsby trems?

They make roller saddles i think, but we got this at a local shop used, it was just the vibrato unit, nothing else. It didn't turn out bad for costing him a total of like $40 + his dad's old guitar.

With a properly cut nut and good saddles you really don't need any of that.

Thanks for all of the advice. I talked to the local tech I take my stuff to - Geoff Benge. He said my nut and bridge should be fine. He also said nine times out of ten those bridges with roller saddles don't work, as in the saddles don't roll and eventually get gummed up with sweat and dirt.
