John 5 is an amazing guitarist. He can switch to different styles so easily while keeping his own "sound" involved. I really love his work and I often go to his tips or lessons online, but I'm having trouble with this one.

In the first few seconds on the video, it seems to me that he's slapping the harmonics on the 12th fret, but I'm not 100% sure. Can anybody help identify this technique?

Yes those are natural harmonics all at the 12 fret -you have to lightly touch the strings withot pressing down and let go while raking the strings in one quik motion directllyl above the 12th fret (not the space) of 3 or more strings it sounds like. I recomend as practice just try one string to sound out the harmonic and then try more as you get better
