i received a guitar for christmas with a floyd. the first string change went flawlessly and ever since they have been a pain in the butt. whenever i put the new string in the saddle and start to tighten the locking screw the string wants to work its way to the side and you probably know it pops out. anyone tell me whats going on?

Can you post a pic of the bridge? Or better, a pic of the bridge and the string? I'm having a little trouble imagining why this would happen.
You sure you doing it right?

Anyway. Hold the string in place against its own will if you have to while you lock it.

Everything that floats and isn't an original is a licensed one... There's plenty of them out there and they are not necessarily identical with each other...

If you didn't solve the problem yet, maybe I can find enough info if you disclose your guitar's model...

ya that happend to me once. it was really frustrating so i put it down for a little while then came back and made sure that i was doing everything really carefuly. when you put the string in the bridge, make sure its not too far down, then put in the pin and push really hard for a few seconds then just thread it into your head stock and tune it carefully.

you'l get it

I'm having the same problem with a cheap licensed Floyd I have on a guitar, the G string keeps popping out of the saddle. I ordered some new string blocks to see if that would fix the problem. If it doesn't, I'm springing for an original Floyd Rose. I've heard horror stories about licensed Floyds and they seem to be true.

[edit]: The new string blocks fixed the problem on my guitar, so you might want to look into that.
