What guitar do you have and what kind of bridge?
Post a pic if possible.

It depends on what type of bridge you have, but it sounds to me like you have a strat or similar. You should be able to raise each individual saddle using a very small allen wrench. All you have to do is turn them to the right (tighten) to raise the saddles. There are 2 on each saddle, so raise both to the same height. While you're doing this, play the string to listen for the buzz. Stop raising the saddle *just* when the buzz stops or becomes liveable.

You also may have truss rod problems. If the bridge doesn't fix it, then you should take it to a tech to have the truss rod loosened / tightened.

In some cases you can raise the entire bridge.

Before you start adjusting anything please identify exactly which strings are buzzing and on what frets.

Or, you may need a truss adjustment. I had to do that with my Jackson JK-20 and my Ibanez 12-string, but there's no string buzz or muting, good intonation, and really nice action. And, ditto to the previous posters - we need more info to better assist you.

As posted earlier, you may need to make a truss adjustment (probably will be a small adjustment).
Raising the bridge may not be adequate to resolve frett buzz at the first and second frets.

If you are going to go twisting on the truss bolt you need to educate your self on what your are doing first. You need to know which direction to twist in order to add relief and you need to know when to stop.

You could also consider putting on a higher gauge string. The added tension could pull the neck just enough to remove the fret buzz.
