Ok, hoping to find some good sources for parts, tools etc., etc. I figured this would be the place to post this after all, if you're using some of the tech tips, then you're possibly using tools or getting supplies, depending on what you're doing.

Myself, I have a few sources for parts and tools that I like to purchase from. Maybe you have a better or less inexpensive source you might like to share?

My little list:

http://www.stewmac.com/

http://store.guitarfetish.com/

http://www.guitarheads.net/

I also have had good luck on ebay as well (Knock on wood) as long as the seller has decent feedback.

Would like to hear about other places if anyone cares to divulge their source LOL.

Stay safe,

Mike

Hmmm, I saw a $55 licensed Floyd-style tremolo at that guitarheads place, I've never seen them before. If it's double locking and not just single locking, I might get it.

I was thinking aboiut getting an OFR from http://guitarpartsdepot.com/

Hey Humstrat!

Guitar parts depot seems to be a cool site, but remember, when buying a real Floyd Rose compared to a licensed Floyd, you get what you pay for. If you can afford the real deal, I'd go with the real deal. That's just me though. However, if you buy anything from guitarheads, they are good people and answer questions within a reasonable amount of time. I don't have anything bad to say about the folks there.

Yeah, I got in touch with them at 1 am with some questions about their licensed Floyd, and they answered almost immediately, very good customer service. But the main thing I don't like about licensed Floyds is that you can't find parts for them, so I think I'm going to go with the OFR at Guitar Parts Depot. They have the OFR for the same price ($170) at http://warmoth.com/ , but Warmoth doesn't take paypal.

http://www.allparts.com has some good stuff also, but haven't purchased from their site yet. I have gotten their parts through one of the local dealers. Looking to see if they take Paypal, need some Gibby parts!

Well, I got the Floyd blocks from http://www.axcessories.com/index.htm that I was expecting, and that fixed the problem of the string coming out of the saddle when I'd tune it up.

Whew, my floyded guitar is working again :)

Thanks Humstrat, I just added that site to my favorites. Some of their prices are pretty good. May just order a new toggle for the Epi from there. Nice to know they take Paypal!

I was a little reluctant to recommend AXcessories, because the Floyd I have is an XFRT100 (see pic) that I ordered from them. It needed new saddle inserts, so I wonder just how "new" some of their stuff is. They offered to send me some inserts free of charge. I said sure, but the ones they sent were used and didn't work. So I went ahead and ordered two sets of their Floyd Rose Original String Blocks. They were brand new and worked fine, so that was a big relief.

And at the $29.95 the Floyd cost, I really can't complain.

Also, I ordered a trem stop block from them, and the screw part was too big for the nut part :-/ So I have to return that and hope they send me the 2 parts of the trem stop block that aren't mis-matched. >:(

But they always answer your emails when you ask them a question, and with the $6.95 S&H flat rate, you get the stuff you ordered in about 2 days, no waiting for the e-check to clear. There is no minimum purchase required, either.

I have ordered parts from them before, but through their ebay store. That is how I found their site. I have ordered pickups and some misc. hardware from them. They are always quick to answer your questions. From the responses that I have gotten from them they have been very proffessional, just don't seem to have much in stock. I believe they are fairly new, at least with an internet store, but they are very pleasant to deal with.

Hope that helps.

I'd also like to recommend http://guitarpartscentral.com/ , I just received a new tremolo for a '99 Squier I have, and it fits fine.
