So I'v been looking around at all these necks to put on a Tele' body and was wondering what the tone differences are in a 1 piece compared to I'v even seen 5 piece necks.. and also if this makes a difference in the warping of the neck if were to be exposed to weather (cause I do have many outdoor gigs).

any help will be much appreciated! thanks for the help

Have you even seen the Gibson Zoot SG? It has like 20 pieces...

Yes, mutliple pieces will prevent the neck from warping. But I don't think outdoor gigs will be a problem either way. Leaving the guitar in a moist basement, cold attic or sunstruck car for a long time could do it.

I don't think a well-made 3-piece neck would be at a tonal disadvantage compared to single-piece necks, but I can't be sure. The main reason for making them is cost effectiveness (easier to find smaller pieces of wood) and resistance to warping.

All of my guitars have one piece necks. So far, no problems.

I've never had a multi-piece neck...multi-piece bodies, yes... but they don't have the same risk of warping that a neck has. Tone wise, most people would say the fewer pieces of wood involved the better, but for a neck I can think of some advantages to multi piece necks...especially if the seam runs the length of the neck and the piece of wood are of different types...in this scenario the multipiece neck could have some tonal characteristics that some would find desirable...on the other hand, if the wrong types of wood are paired together it might sound like total crap and be more prone to warpage
