The Spear Gladius from Blacki.eu arrived today.

First impressions were, " Jeeez, that's heavy!" Straight out of the box it plays a dream, the action is bang on, the solid mahogany body rings forever, and the fit and finish is fantastic. Haven't had time to plug in yet and check out the pick-ups, but I swear for a £370 (@ £450 US?) guitar, Ibanez better start worrying if these things take off. And as a nod to Jim, the D'addario's are standard and are really bright even un-plugged!!

I'll get some tunes on here with it soon, or a video, and let you see and hear it.

Couldn't get more bang for the buck if I bought a .357 Magnum Colt Python.........seriously!!

Haha, Yeah I have to keep the 'plugging' side of my brain static, and the 'tell it like it is' side in full throttle.....

My aim was to get some guitars into schools Farlow, schools here shun the guitar as a viable option. Its really sad....so I'm gonna try to get the 'Strat' type Spear into the schools and give the kids the choice and chance that I never had.

I do have to go round the stores too, but my main aim is eduction. And that's what I'll be focusing on. Plus a few gigs I might add!! :-)))

They're Spears own on this model, the others are loaded with EMG's. I've given them a good going over and they are pretty good, nice and punchy, harmonics squeal like piggies!

OMG........................Im Realy Horned Up Right Now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I remeber you forum with the one that u were waiting to get that guitar.........Sweet EMG's dude. very unique artwork to........It almost looks like a Birch Tree (The Art) Very nice!!!!! Tis Rosewood Max, no fret-markers apart from the 12th which will take a few days to get used to now. Jeez, one with, one without, one with the Vine, all I need now is one with no frets at all!!!

Just took a closer look at it on their site, I 've never really seen these before but that is a nice freakin guitar for that price and very pretty too.

nice axe...since I don't want to have a G.A.S. attack for a new guitar, I hope I don't find one up close...I'd probably be too tempted to buy one.

Of course, forced to choose between my SG and any other guitar, I'll choose the SG simply because I'd wanted one for so long...they only thing I'd consider selling it for is another SG that I like better; but since that's not in the budget, I'm not even checking out possibilities.

Thanks JTC. I used it to do a clearer version of 'A Little Blessing' if you want to give it a listen. Still not right, but getting there slowly. There's a few mistakes in it but it's trial and error at the moment.
