I have the Keeley version of this. I use it to add harmonic content and to fatten up a rhythm guitar sound. It really seems to tighten up the bass end and make the high notes super fat.

I've used this for about two years. I find it very useful as it takes the place of many of my effects pedals. Only con is that it does not have a volume/effects pedal.

Just got this guitar and i must say I am really impressed by it. This guitars tone can range from bluesy to strait up death metal. I love the neck, its very slim and fast. The only bad part are the tuners, but im getting locking tuners so im fine other then that check it out. Probably the best guitar fro the price out there.

The proof that simple can always be good! Just turn it on and tune the strings up/down till they are ok. OR, if you want them to be perfect, plug the guitar cable on it, tune it to perfection and start rockin' out loud. Compatible with dropped tunings, 7-strings, baritone and 5 or 6 string bass guitar. It's so cheap you'll think it's chinese stuff...

I don't care what anybody says. This is an AMAZING piece of gear. It's affordable and if one is willing to put in the time to really dig deep into it's functions, it can give anyone a very desirable tone. I've had it for like 6 years now and, other from some of the buttons being a little worn from excessive pressing, it's really held up nice and still gives a nice consistant tone. The contruction is pretty good, not the best though. But for it's price, i can accept this flaw. I've tried several other cheap processors and modeling units and, for the price, absolutely nothing compares to it.

I actually have the DST-2 with the non-fixed bridge. Otherwise the guitars are identical. I'm happy with this guitar. Musicians really dropeed the price on these guitars for some reason so they sold quickly. Quality Guitar. The big selling/non-selling point is the new speedloader bridge. I think most people were just afraid to buy a guitar that required specific strings made only by Dean Markley or Floyd Rose. But now that many of these guitars are receiving great reviews from those made the purchase they will probably start producing more of them.

We just got one of these in the studio. Bought it specifically for drum overheads. It's more than a simple tube pre as it also includes a vactrol leveling amp, (tube compressor,) as well as some basic EQ. Great pre for the money. Only thing I don't like is the phantom power switches are on the back of the unit. OK for most, but difficult to deal with when mounted in a rack. I'll add more as we get to test this unit in the studio.

Very nice guitar for the money. Sure, it only has dot inlays instead of sharktooth, but that doesn't make a bit of functional difference. After a slight bridge adjustment and a change to heavier strings, this guitar kicks plenty of ass.

I love the sound of the Area 58 for the neck and middle. It's bright and punchy, best of all there's no hum.
