It's Flamenco with gang vocals. For any of us who have been granted the luxury of travel, actually, you know what?...you don't even need to ever have had a passport to hear or taste or smell Andalucia. "Cositas Buenas", as a studied player from North America has moved me as a player but more importantly as a human being. Harmony is the sweet and the savory of life and on this record they are both over-flowing!
You all came here tonight to hear a really fine modern music ensemble, conducted by a really fine conductor, well here comes the fine conductor now...No guitar kids. Frank arranges some of his best music for chamber orchestra and it still rips. He introduces the outline for the evening and designates a particular area of the stage for the depositing of undergarments. You might need to digest small chunks at a time fore the weak of constitution may find this record a bit much. Kind of like in "Planes, Trains and Automobiles"... "Her first baby, come out sideways, she didn't scream or nothin' " Yeah, that's about the size of it. It might feel like it be coming out sideways.
Percussive and overwhelming. This record is a bit of a stretch for Flamenco purists, but for those who stretch beyond the boundaries of convention will find this record beautiful and enlightening. His pistol shot rasgueados are nothing short of precision and perfection. This record, and his others, namely 'Andando El Tiempo' have greatly influenced my nylon and electric playing!
Tomatito tears up Flamenco and re-invents rhythm and melody on the amazing album where he is firmly engaged with el duende. His melodies are lush with rich phrasing and beautiful spaces between well chosen notes.
 Because
Certainly one of the darker experiments in the Beatles catalog but beautiful none-the-less. The rendition performed in the video is in C# harmonic minor. Only because of apparent legalities, that I'm still a bit foggy on, there is only an excerpt of the original. What the hell, I'll put up t....
