Greigh Gri's Simple Rig
AddThis Social Bookmark Button
Just a quick insight into the gear and basement of Greigh Gri Pearce. People have asked what I use when I record, so here's a little behind the simple rig I use for the guitar tracks that you hear on my albums "Tres Melodies D'Underground" and "Next To You".

The Yellow Shark
You all came here tonight to hear a really fine modern music ensemble, conducted by a really fine conductor, well here comes the fine conductor now...No guitar kids. Frank arranges some of his best music for chamber orchestra and it still rips. He introduces the outline for the evening and designates a particular area of the stage for the depositing of undergarments. You might need to digest small chunks at a time fore the weak of constitution may find this record a bit much. Kind of like in "Planes, Trains and Automobiles"... "Her first baby, come out sideways, she didn't scream or nothin' " Yeah, that's about the size of it. It might feel like it be coming out sideways.

Boss OC-3 SUPER Octave Pedal
This is the big brother of the OC-2 that I have in the wiring of my analogue rig, but still a great addition to beef up your solos into something truly ridiculous.

Fender Twin Amp 100-Watt All-Tube Guitar Amp
This amp is a great work horse that won't break the bank. A tight, punchy clean channel is sistered with a gain channel with two stages. The 'yellow' setting is great for slight to medium break up, with a 'red' boost that lets you punch forward a great Ty Tabor/Eric Johnson sort of tone. It has a channel assignable effects loop and reverb and a 'Mix' knob on the face to blend the wet to dry. Two 12" speakers sit content in a black tolex enclosure boasting both 60 and 100 watt settings. I personally ran a chorus and digital delay and managed a tone close to Eddie's on "Cabo Wabo". Just one of those happy accidents I suppose...

Gibson Les Paul Standard Left-Handed 50s Neck Electric Guitar Wine Red
Pure and honest. Tone like the driven snow. And then you pound into it like an eighteen wheeler into a New Jersey Barrier. If tone were people, my wine red Les Paul would be China.
 Price: $5.49
D'Addario EJ20 Nickel Wound Jazz Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings
I throw these bamf's down the throat of my Anderson and Les Paul for scorching tone and amazing longevity.
