The Amazing Musical Contributions of 'King'wie Malmsteen
AddThis Social Bookmark Button
It's true all of you all. Did you ever think that's truly what all y'all translates as. All of you all? I'm not knocking it! It's clever and circumnavagentious. That means encompassing all things pertinent or relevant. I learned that multi-syllabic train wreck from the suited ape in Washington. Ah, but which one you say? Good for you!

Yngwie, or as known by his neo-traditionalist deciples as "King"wie (pr. King-Veigh), has rendered many aspiring guitarists useless in his wake of ultra-efficient, smooth toned, pyrotechnic precision. He borrows from the greatest musical minds that mankind might ever know and delivers them through a vehicle of his own creation falling just shy of the fate of Paganini.

Please Come Home...Mr. Bulbous
The opening track of maniacal rhythm cell distorted sound poem preceding "She's Gone Away" is hard to swallow for some, but sets the tone for the artistry that follows on this amazing record. The songs seem to be more personal to the trio in that they are focused on the performance contained in the trio and not so focused on multi-timbral overdubs that condemn most progressive records to the over-production bin at Metal-R-Us. I think the thing that hit me the most is Jerry is playing the drums in a melodic sense and Doug's rhythmic flow is so relaxed and behind the beat that his chosen groove could lull you of the edge of a ravine. This is certainly one of my favorite records right now.

Fender 51 Nocaster Relic Electric Guitar Honey Blonde
Definitely a life-style guitar. It's a wallet buster but worth the return in tone and cool. Why would I buy a relic-ed instrument? I guess two reasons...To find a seller willing to part with the real thing for less than balance of my Schwab fund is highly unlikely but more importantly the Fender Custom Shop is spot on accurate when it comes to antiquating hardware, mishap dings, thinning finish and pick wear in the pickup cases. Fender Twin Amp 100-Watt All-Tube Guitar Amp
This amp is a great work horse that won't break the bank. A tight, punchy clean channel is sistered with a gain channel with two stages. The 'yellow' setting is great for slight to medium break up, with a 'red' boost that lets you punch forward a great Ty Tabor/Eric Johnson sort of tone. It has a channel assignable effects loop and reverb and a 'Mix' knob on the face to blend the wet to dry. Two 12" speakers sit content in a black tolex enclosure boasting both 60 and 100 watt settings. I personally ran a chorus and digital delay and managed a tone close to Eddie's on "Cabo Wabo". Just one of those happy accidents I suppose...
