90 percent of souther rock is played on Gibsons. Can you get a good enough sond on a strat?

i heavily favor the sound of the gibson, but i have great respect for fender as well. nothing sounds better to me than hearing both at thier best. i think they both have a place in southern rock. the les paul has the sound that is iconic when it comes to southern rock, but what would sweet home alabama be without the stratocaster?

That is a very good point. The ine thing I have figured out is that a Strat played through a Twin has an awesome clean sound. But it will never compare to the crunch a Les Paul makes through a Marshall. They both have their place.

There is one song that has a good Strat sound with some crunch and that is Dreams I'll Never See by Molly Hatchet. There are many more and I am sure you can name quite a few but that one cimes to mind.

Yeah a les paul is an amazing guitar in southern rock so is a strat but u cant forget the sg or explorer both of which were used by most if not all the southern rock bands and the fender was used a lot for its whammy bar lol its a big deal on it

the more i listen to the gibsons, the more i like them. i think i will always be a gibson fan. fender will allways have its place, though.i like the sound of a tele or strat, but gibson is in a whole other demension for me.
