Whether it is within a circle of metal-fan friends, the internet, or at concerts, there seems to be an unrelenting trend of hatred towards any bands with a genre that ends in -core. Now, why all the hate, you may ask. Most metalheads believe that simply putting -core at the ending of a genre (Metal-CORE or death-CORE) makes it immediately impure, like taking elements of hardcore into one's own music makes it less relevent and "good". There are shameless -core bigots that will denounce any band that is a -core band, most often without even listening to them. This is an outrage. EVERY TIME SOMEBODY MAKES A CRITICISM AGAINST A BAND, THEY SHOULD MAKE SURE THEY HAVE FULLY LISTENED TO THAT BAND ENOUGH TIMES TO MAKE AN EDUCATED AND THOUGHT OUT DECISION AS TO WHY THEY DO OR DO NOT LIKE THEM. Most of the time, I think these idiots are more concerned about what is "tr00" metal or "br00tal" rather than what they actually like. DON'T BE A CONFORMIST. Metal has always been against that shit. Conforming to other's beliefs and desires is something that makes for a bad society. One that isn't diverse. I hate to tell all you die-hard death metal fans, but Dying Fetus, a god-like band in the eyes of these mere mortals, actually were known for incorporating elements of (OMG) Hardcore music into their songs. They even had (HERE IT COMES) BREAKDOWNS!!!!! That's right! They had goddamn BREAKDOWNS! I will admit, most bands that have the -core are very shitty and are generic and cookie cutter themselves. This is also no excuse to be generic. But there are honest, good, wholesome, hard-working, and all-around good bands out there that suffer the -core suffix at the end of their genre. The Red Chord, All Shall Perish, The Faceless (sorta), and even Between The Buried And Me have haters who will denounce them for being a "shitty metalcore" or "deathcore" band. All of these bands have true talent and are deserving of the fans and money they've earned in their long (or short) careers. So please, I beg of you on behalf of all thinking human beings, DON'T BE A MUSIC RACIST!!!
