Ibanez RG2228-GK 8 string guitar

The Ibanez RG2228-GK, is a killer guitar. It does take a little getting used to at first, but it is easy to get used to. It's 5 piece wizarp presitge neck is awsome, as is everything about the guitar. They string it stock, with 9's going up to a .065 for the bass 8th string. So the set is light, but the action is killer. If you want to go up one string guage, it would be a good option, as Metal Heads prefer heavier strings. The only complaint I have about it, is that it needs an external battery box mounted on the back side, instead of having to open up the electronics cover to change the battery.
And it's sound is great. If one is not running a 30+- rack mounted EQ, I recomend a pair of the MXR M-108 10 band EQ's, [ selectable via a Boss LS-2, or other line selector if you like ---but I run mine in series, for now, and select them that way ] or the new Boss programable 10 band EQ ( which I have not had the chance to check out yet ), but some EQ adjustments of such a pedal, before or after ( which is what I prefer ), your other distortion pedals eq settings, is a must!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The MXR-M108's allow You to color the tone of the Ibanez RG2228-GK, perfectly!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I recomend this guitar, for some serious Metal offerings!!!!!!!!! Every Metal Head I know, when they actualy try one, fall in love with it instantly!!!!!!
