Rumours of a new Jim Root signature model have been circulating ever since the Slipknot guitarist was recently spotted wielding a fresh white guitar. EMG has now all but confirmed, via an Instagram post, that a new Root signature Fender Jazzmaster is indeed on its way.

The new axe is reminiscent of Root’s original Fender signature Jazzmaster, released in 2014. Bold and clean, it features block inlays, a slim Strat-like headstock and what appears to be an Arctic White finish.

The post also revealed that the guitar will feature EMG’s new Jim Root signature pickup set which seems to be made up of two active humbuckers. It also looks like these pups will be wired to a single master volume knob.

Although there’s no word on when Root’s new signature model hits the streets, EMG did clue us in with a hashtag: #NAMM2020.
