 My music recommendations
A comprehensive Lynyrd Skynyrd collection, spanning their entire career although focusing mainly on the early hits. Missing a few great songs such as I Know A Little, but still a good greatest hits album.
Amazing debut album from the timeless Lynyrd Skynyrd. This album, which spans 13 tracks including never before heard demos, is a must own for any Lynyrd Skynyrd fan. Featuring amazing ballads such as Free Bird and Tuesday's Gone as well as rock anthems such as Gimme Three Steps and Simple Man.
This is an awesome effort from the Derek Trucks Band. The first album featuring new-found singer Mike Mattison is a beautiful one. From inspirational songs like I Wish I Knew How (It Would Feel to be Free) to awe-inspiring guitar tracks like the wonderous, ethnic sounding Sahib Teri Badni/Maki Madni this album is killer. This release is a move in a new direction for the band who started as primarily instrumental. Derek Trucks is one of the greatest, most exciting musicians in music today, and this is a must-own.
This is the last studio album from the original Lynyrd Skynyrd line-up featuring Ronnie Van Zant. This effort is, while different from the earlier albums, still awesome. Featuring ballads like One More Time and Ain't No Good Life. Ain't No Good Life is actually the newly aquired guitarist, Steve Gaines singing. He was a great addidition to the band but tragically, would die along with Ronnie in the ensuing plane crash just a week after the album's release. One notable difference in this album are the great lyrics in songs such as That Smell, which was inspired by one of the band members getting in a car accident while drunk-driving. This is another must own from one of the most powerful, amazing bands to ever live.
