Yesterday I learned to play Iron Man. I am pretty excited that I can play a recognizable song. So I went to work and told my friend that I learned to play Iron Man and he said now you should learn Smoke on the Water so when i got home that is what I did! Now I really feel accomplished. I am still working on my basic chords and scales too. My fingers are numb and I kind of like that because that means I have been playing and reminds me throughout the day that I play guitar now. 
I bought a guitar strap and some picks the other day. It was pretty hard to find a strap that didn't have leather on the ends. I am a vegetarian and try not to buy anything with leather on it. I did manage to find one, it is black and white checkered. The picks are pretty orange Dunlop .60mm. I think I might need thicker picks, these ones seem a little to bendy for me. Or maybe I just want an excuse to go back to the guitar store. :P
