Eric Johnson utterly amazes me. He is incredibly fast and smooth, but contrasts his blazing speed with ethereal intervals of beautiful chords with echo. Taking this to a further dimension, his dedication to tone demands note. In an interview, EJ has commented he pursues a violin-like quality to his sound. EJ has certainly paid the price for his art, practicing four to eight hours daily, over decades. That'll take a bite out of yer social life!
