Welcome to Guitar.com, Beta!

Greetings Guitar.com Users, Guests, Bloggers and Friends:

Well as you can now see, Guitar.com is officially live and yet still under construction. As you nose around the site, you’ll find much of the old Guitar.com content brought back to life. All of the old video interviews and lessons have been resurrected along with many of the workshops and DIY information. We still have much to do but please know that we’re diligently working towards adding more value and content for your improving your experience here at Guitar.com.

We would like to thank many of you who took the time to email us with your thoughts and also those of you that took part in our surveys last year. You really helped us get this process started. Some of you have commented on the fact that some of the things you’ve asked for, have not come to fruition. Well the fact of the matter is they haven’t come to fruition…….yet. We’re still working on some of these items but know that we are working on them.  We’re still dialing in some of the functionality on the site, so if you find a bug, please let us know. Once we get the site de-bugged, we’ll optimize the site and you’ll notice an increase in speed. So if things are a little on the slow side, please accept our apology in this regard.

Content – We poured over the old Guitar.com content and there were some great interviews, lessons and other tidbits, well worth posting again. It’s going to take us a little time to build up a catalog of new content so when you visit certain elements throughout the site, you may only see three or four pieces listed. We’ll continue to build upon these introductions so be sure to check in often for great new lessons, videos, interviews, reviews and other bits of news information about the world of guitar. Some of the older material may not have any images due to restrictions from the author or artist or a number of other reasons. We apologize for that but again as we begin to add new content things like this become less evident. Be sure to send us some suggestions too on the type of content you’d like to see!

New to Guitar – This has long been an element that we’ve wanted to add to the site. We get tons of emails from new guitarists asking questions that can easily be answered in this new feature. If you have some thoughts on items that may help improve this section, please feel free to contact us.

Forums –The new forums are a customized version of vBulletin. Part of the reason this process took a little longer than expected was due to this feature.

There are other ways of communicating with members on the site.  There are some great new options for posting your comments and ratings on content and features of the site as well as options to share something that you find of interest with your friends, all available in the Social Box on just about every page.

Gear and Music – You may also notice product and music recommendations from affiliate programs are not on the new site. The terms of some of these programs have changed greatly so unfortunately these elements have been removed.  But we’ve added some new tools to help you find gear through some new partners and we’ll be adding more great tools like Tab searches, with more to come.

Member Community – Current Guitar.com members, your profile has been ported over to the new website so you can start updating it with information you currently share on any of the social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace and YouTube. Please note, if you recently had made changes on the old site, it most likely will not show up on the new site. Check your profile and update it accordingly. If you’re new to guitar.com, jump on in and Register as a new member!

Lessons, Videos, Tools and other new content elements – So, we’ve got lots of new content coming, it’ll just take a little time. Our goal is to once again make guitar.com, the key resource for guitar information online. We hope you will help spread the word on the simple fact that guitar.com is back, active and looking to grow its exciting community of guitarists.

Thanks for taking the time to visit with us and we hope to see you on the site again in the near future!

With the advent of the web php hosting, worldwide distribution, and digital recording, there's never been a better time to be a musician . The problem is there's no home on the web to collect all the useful resources, tools, services, information, and websites that can help musicians.
Blogs are always a main source of getting accurate information and provide you the handy results; you can get instant and reliable information which surely helps you in any field of your concern. I am post graduate in IT and HR. These days I am doing preparation of different online certifications and I found mcsa 2008 guide is the best helping source which is providing 100% authentic material. I also spend my extra time in surfing internet, listening music and playing games. After my exams I would like to join your group. Regards Marry Davidson
