Chuck Berry, Rock N Roll Pioneer, Dies at 90

With a career that spanned more than five decades, few musicians of their era better understood what kids wanted to hear. Mr. Berry was happy to oblige with signature riffs and exciting performances of songs such as "Maybellene," "Roll Over Beethoven" and "Johnny B. Goode," Mr. Berry helped make rock and roll distinctive with blistering guitar solos and showmanship that quickly made him a major figure on the exploding Rock 'n' Roll scene.

Chuck Berry who did as much as anyone to help define rock ’n’ roll, died in his home Saturday, March 18, at the age of 90.

Berry had recently recorded a new album, his first in 38 years. Simply titled "Chuck," the album is only listed as "Coming Soon" on the website for Berry's label, Dualtone Records.
