Guitar Licks Encyclopedia Method Released by Alfred Music Publishing
Los Angeles, CA — December 2011 - Alfred Music Publishing, the world leader in educational print music publishing since 1922, is proud to announce the release of Guitar Licks Encyclopedia, a collection of over 900 licks made famous by guitar masters in a wide variety of styles, produced in partnership with National Guitar Workshop.
Written in both TAB and standard notation, Guitar Licks Encyclopedia helps expand guitarists’ playing abilities by teaching rock, blues, and jazz licks in various styles. The rock section covers guitar playing techniques of legendary rock guitarists, including Chuck Berry, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, and many more. The blues section covers licks, intros, and turnarounds in Delta, Chicago, Texas, rock, country, swing, minor, and slide blues styles. Jazz licks are shown and organized by chord type, with four voicings given for each chord, all notated in easy-to-read diagrams. In addition, basic theory, tips, technical instruction, a handy table of scales, and other vital topics are also included. The MP3 CD features demonstrations of all the licks in the book.
The National Guitar Workshop is dedicated to bringing the best in music education to guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, drummers, and vocalists regardless of style of music or level of ability. Their highly developed courses foster meaningful experiences through performance instruction and supportive learning environments.
As part of Alfred’s ongoing commitment to improving the environment, this publication is printed on 100% recycled paper.
