The Libertines “Reunite,” Release First Album in 11 Years

English “Garage rockers” The Libertines put out two albums, then went their separate ways more than a decade ago. On September 4, their record label will release their first new album in 11 years, Anthems for Doomed Youth.

The band released a single titled “Gunga Din” on July 2 -- the first from the new album. The song was a bit of a departure from the style of the band’s previous recordings, and may have left some fans wondering what was going on. The second single, Glasgow Coma Scale Blues” returns more to the band’s rough-around-the-edges roots.

The Libertines make appearances throughout Europe in August and September, including a performance (or two) at Lollapalooza Berlin September 12 and at the Captal Corona Festival November 21 in Mexico City.
