Rockin' New Satch/Hagar Chickenfoot Album Out Now
The supergroup Chickenfoot has a new album out titled Best + Live, featuring a collection of tracks from the group's two studio albums, live cuts from their 2016 concert dates (and more), and a bonus new song. In an exclusive new Guitar.com interview guitarist Joe Satriani joked about the concept of putting out a "Best of" collection after only two studio albums, but laughed and said, "Why not?"
Check out the new song "Divine Termination," Chickenfoot's first new song in five years:
Chickenfoot featues Sammy Hagar on vocals, Joe Satriani on guitar, former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
Best + Live includes 25 songs and more than 90 minutes of live music, including covers of Montrose's "Bad Motor Scooter," Deep Purple's "Highway Star," The Who's "My Generation," and a recording of Satch nailing his version of Jimi Hendrix's "Star Spangled Banner" from a 2009 live show in Phoenix. The album arrives as two discs if purchased in CD format (available at Best Buy and other retailers, or direct from the band's website), or as a digital download.
Sammy Hagar had this to say about Best + Live: "Listening to this collection of songs from the ‘Foot brings back memories of some of the most fun I've ever had in a band. The chemistry between Chad, Joe, Mike and me is very special. It's almost like visual music -- you can see us having fun when you listen to these songs."
