Like to say hello to all. Name's Dave.

50 yr ol' single parent of one who's home for the summer from college.

Took lessons for a couple years when I was 10-11. For the most part have always had a guitar of some sort, but was just a weekend hack at best.

Had a nice Les Paul when in the Navy (couple...decades ago, now), but the wife and I ran into a $ crunch and had to sell it. Bummer. Heritage Standard 80 Elite. One I'd like to have back.

Played a rather economical Yamaha accoustic for a number of years. Traded that up for a Taylor 310 in '98.

Jan. '08 I bought my first plug in since the above mentioned Paul, an '07 Studio and a DRRI. Since then I've gone a bit nuts.

Planning for the Boy going off to school and poo pooin' about that, empty nest and all, I ended up with another DRRI (I play through the 2 in // via a Lehle amp switcher), Bj NOS, 2 GreTschs, a 335, another LP, this one a Special I swapped out the 100's for SD Vintage P-90's, a Tele, Strat, P-Bass w/TV Twelve, all kinds of pedals and a heck of a set of GreTsch drums.

Bought the young man a GreTsch and his own Lester and a little Cube for his apt.

Still just a weekend hack at best, but I absolutely love playin'. Give up booze a few years ago so makin' noise, flippin' lures on occasion and football in the fall's about all I do anymore.

Changed jobs and locations a few years ago. Small town, real laid back. Job's awesome. Best one I've ever had. Work a rotating shift and weekends and backshifts I play here (getting off shortly) through the Bj and whatever guitar I bring in.

I stumbled across this site while watching a Gentleman here playing...I forget what it was...his strat on u-tube a few months ago.

Excellent site, I'm very impressed and thrilled to be here, although I've only recently discovered the forum.

Take care and see ya around.

And thanks for having me.

Welcome! I used the videos here for a while before I knew about the forum myself!

The people here are the best, and the knowledge is deep, so you'll be jamming on the weekdays before you know it!;)

Cape Cod is wonderf . . . I mean, it's a terrible place!! There's nothing to see here so move on!! Sorry, the tourists are killing me (exception allowed for tminet and family!).

The barre chords are still there, sitting inside my fingers, waiting to come out! I encourage them daily! I guess they're just shy.

And thanks for the Def Leppard throw out! Very nice of you!
